Questions

Do I need to register as self-employed?

Usually yes, if you earn more than £1,000 from self-employment in a tax year. I can register you with HMRC and get your UTR.

When is my tax return due?

Online returns for 2025/26 are due by 31 January 2027, and any tax owed is due the same day.

I am on Universal Credit. Can you help?

Yes. The Horizon package includes support with your monthly self-employed earnings reports.

What is Making Tax Digital?

From 6 April 2026 sole traders with income over £50,000 send quarterly updates to HMRC, and from April 2027 the limit drops to £30,000. I set up the software and handle the updates.
